Ever so often I am blessed with a story, poem, or what I
would call great literature, sent to me by a friend who feels
I just might enjoy it. The thoughts expressed below fall into
the "appreciation" category for me.
I hope you will value them as well.
The insights below were sent to me by my friend, Paul, in
North Carolina. K4YJG.

HOW WELL DO WE VALUE TIME?
To realize the value of ten years: just ask a newly divorced
couple.
To realize the value of four years: ask a university graduate.
To realize the value of one year: ask a student who has failed
a final exam.
To realize the value of nine months: ask a mother who gave
birth to a stillborn.
To realize the value of one month: ask a mother who has given
birth to a premature baby.
To realize the value of one week: ask an editor of a weekly
newspaper.
To realize the value of one hour: ask lovers who are waiting
to meet.
To realize the value of one minute: ask a person who has missed
a bus, train or plane.
To realize the value of one second: ask a person who almost
had a life-threatening accident.
To realize the value of one millisecond: ask the person who
has won a silver medal at the Olympics.
To realize the value of a friend: lose one.
Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment that you have.
You will treasure time even more when you can share it with
a friend.

"Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they
are; help us to spend them as we should." Psalm 90:12
"Lord, help me to realize how brief my time on earth will
be. Help me to know that I am here for but a moment more. My
life is no longer than my hand! My whole lifetime is but a moment
to You. Proud man (woman)! Frail as breath! A shadow! And all
his (her) busy rushing ends in nothing. He (she) heaps up riches
for someone else to spend. And so, Lord, my only hope is in
You." Psalm 30:4 to 7
"The important thing to remember is that our remaining
time is very short, and so are our opportunities for doing the
Lord's work." 1 Corinthians 7:29a
"So be careful how you act; these are difficult days. Don't
be fools; be wise: make the most of every opportunity you have
for doing good." Ephesians 5:16
"Make the most of your chances to tell others the Good
News. Be wise in all your contacts with them." Colossians
4:5
